According to Akan, the ‘Onipa Akoma’ album was inspired by his state of mind, heart, and his consciousness he was going through at the time he was writing songs on the album.
In an exclusive interview, this morning on the ‘Day Break Hitz’ morning show aired on Accra-based radio station Hitz FM and hosted by the renowned disc jockey, rapper, and media personality Andy Dosty, Akan stated the album was inspired by his ownself and the things he was aspiring for in life as a young man.
Speaking on the controversy behind the cover art of the album, Akan revealed the dresses and the posture in the cover art represent the kind of lifestyle every young man wants to live growing up.
He said the wedding dress represents how he wants to get lady(s) beside him whenever he gets money and the Bible represents the conciousness of accessing what is right from wrong in everything one does.
Akan released the ‘Onipa Akoma’ in 2017 with 15 songs on the album with some hit songs like ‘Me Sika Duro’ and ‘Helebaba’ which features talented artist like Worlasi who also serves as the only guest artist on the album.
The Poet has also revealed he produced the entire album on his own and urged Ghanaians and most music lovers to give chance to other unique and talented musicians by supporting them instead of following trends.
