Ghanaian rapper, Desmond Kwesi Blackmore, well known as D Black has applauded rappers and singers emerging from Kumerica but has also lamented how divided they are.

Speaking in an interview on Akoma FM with Tony Best, D Black revealed that the new crops of musicians rising from Kumerica are doing well with their crafts but lack the unity that binds them together as one people.
“The Kumerican guys are doing great, but I think they are a little bit divided,” he said.
D Black during the interview said that all entertainers in the creative industry require the support of their colleagues to make it big in the industry. He said that it seems all the artists from Kumerica are doing their own thing instead of seeking each other’s support.
“I feel they need to come together and pursue a common agenda. is such that, you will not be on top forever. So, as a brother’s shine goes down, he gets featured on a big song on a particular moment to lift him,” he said.
His comments come probably after it was revealed that Yaw Tog is no longer working with the Asakaa Boys after he refused to sign a label deal with them. This was after it was noticed that Yaw Tog deleted the verses of the Asakaa Boys on his breakthrough single “Sore” during the remix with the British rapper, Stormzy.
Yaw Tog made the breakup public by saying; “I didn’t sign their record label deal and it came out from them since I didn’t sign their deal. They can’t work with me again and things started from the deletion of my verses and stuff they did together.”
However, we have realized that other Kumerican acts like Kweku Flick, Kofi Jamar, YPee, Osikani Abrantie, Kweku Darlington, among others, have all been their been going about their music career individually.
