A 79-year-old man, Francis Obeng Amoako, has been arrested alongside five others for allegedly inserting a stick into the anus of a 16-year-old boy in Agogo in the Ashanti Region.
The police in Agogo reportedly picked information from a whatsapp group to the effect that a group of persons had subjected a 16-year-old boy to a gruesome ordeal for allegedly stealing money from a shop belonging to one of them.
The teenage boy’s two legs and hands were tied up and after beating him, his aggressors pushed a stick deep into his anus.
The video showed the boy screaming and pleading with his aggressors to spare himbut to no avail.
After viewing the video, some police officers from Agogo were able to identify the suspects whereupon a night patrol succeeded in effecting his arrest.
Last Saturday, a certain Adwoa Oparebea, 50, reported to the Agogo Police Station about her missing son, Enoch, 16.
She told the police that she was told that some persons had harmed him and so she was looking for him so she could take him to hospital for treatment.
After the 16-year-old boy’s ordeal, his aggressors untied and asked him to go.
79-year-old Obeng Amoako, who confessed his involvement in the crime, told the police that after untying the boy, he removed the stick from his anus and was asked to go by his captors.
The suspects being held by the Agogo Police for their complicity in the causing of harm to the young boy are Kofi Asadu, 29, Francis Obeng Amoako, 79, Obeng Mensah, 30, Osei Bonsu, 53, Boakye Danquah, 65 and Kwasi Marfo 24.
The police are still searching for the boy dead or alive to assist in their investigation.
