Ghanaian highlife crooner, Akwaboah has recounted with deep pain how a glamourous chance to work with American singer Alicia Keys was taken away from him.

According to him, Alicia Keys reached out to him upon a recommendation to write a song for her which he did so well.

However, when it was time for him to submit the song to the singer for her perusal which could eventually result in bigger things, a Ghanaians nicodemously wrote to Alicia and convinced her to reject his work.

Akwaboah narrated on Kessben TV that the Ghanaian told Alicia Keys not to work with him because he did not have the numbers and also his appeal as a musician was limited.

Managers of Alicia Keys conducted research on Akwaboah’s numbers and realized that he wasn’t that great so they decided to turn down the deal…a Pull Him Down syndicate succeeded at his work.

Akwaboah concluded by saying that although he felt pained that his work was rejected by no mean a person like Alicia Keys, soon he came to understand how his own people could rise to bring him down. That was a priceless lesson he learnt very early in his career.
