Former VGMA Rapper of the Year, Trigmatic has advised the new crop of artistes to show decorum and respect when dealing with veteran musicians.
Trigmatic said he has been humble enough to earn favour from most of these old stars and anytime he finds himself in their company, they usually complain to him that they don’t mingle with the reigning stars of the present era because of their condescending behaviors.
“I have worked with a couple of the older musicians, including Akablay, and one of the reasons they refuse to collaborate with the young ones is that they do not respect.
The disrespect is becoming too much and I wonder what we are teaching the young ones who are looking up to us. No matter the money we make, we should still show some respect to the older ones.
The fact that I make more money than the older musicians should not give me the right to disrespect them,” he said.
Trigmatic wondered how these young artistes can be groomed in one way or the other by these experienced artistes if they continue to show gross disrespect.
“These older musicians have a lot in them that we can learn. The likes of Nana Kwame Ampadu, A.B Crentsil and Amandzeba have so much in them that we can learn, but if we keep disrespecting them, how can they also impart to us what they know?” he asked.
