May 18 (UPI) — A police officer and an animal control officer in New Hampshire came to the rescue of an 85-pound dog that plunged into a full, 500-gallon septic tank at its owner’s home.
The Bedford Police Department said an officer and an animal control officer responded to the home where a German shepherd had fallen into an open septic tank.
The officers were able to extract the pooch “using a catch pole and some ingenuity,” police said in a Facebook post.
“The dog had a bath and is doing well,” the post said. “We think his owners were more panicked than he was, but we’re just happy we were able to help.”
