Multiple award-winning dancehall and Afrobeat artist Stonebwoy has finally bowed to pressure by the public over the ongoing protest against the government.
A few weeks ago, some Ghanaian youth and other celebrities rose up against the government by starting a new hashtag on Twitter #FixTheCountry which went viral. The purpose of this new hashtag was to mount pressure on the government after prices of fuel increased alongside taxes.

Celebrities like Efia Odo have dedicated their Twitter page to the new hashtag created. She has slammed the government on several occasions using her platform. Efia Odo has urged Ghanaians to do something for themselves because the government has failed its people. She further stated that the government dumps the citizen like a “condom” after elections.
The public has been calling on Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, and Sarkodie to join the train. An NDC page on Twitter lambasted Ghanaian artists who threw their support behind Nigerians when they were protesting against SARS.
In the post they wrote, “@samini_dagaati @sarkodie @stonebwoyb @shattawalegh dem all make quiet. These same people then dem dey push #EndSARS nu oo. Same people go come tell us to support our own yet they can’t fight for their own #FixTheCountry #BlackTuesday”.
Stonebwoy who initially didn’t want to comment on the ongoing trend has bowed to the pressure and has said that he supports the trend #FixTheCountry.

“I support the fact that Ghana needs to be fixed and continues to be fixed. My point is that I believe that it isn’t like nothing has been done at all but things have to continue to be done”, he told Naa Ashorkor on Asaase Radio.
