‘The Ghanaian Creative Industry Players Are Hypocrites And Political More Than Politicians’-Sam George Fires Mark Okraku Mantey

NDC staunch member and the member of parliament representing Ningo-Prampram, Hon. Sam Nartey George has lambasted Mark Okraku Mantey who is the President of the Creative Arts Industry.

Speaking with Nana Aba Anamoah on Starr FM, the outspoken politicians stated the main reason behind the downfall of the Ghana Creative Arts industry.

In his assertions, Sam George said that most players in the creative arts industry are hypocrites and are now political even more than politicians.

He told Nana Aba Anamoah that Mark Okraku Mantey has refused to condemn the ruling political party for their inability to fulfill the promises they made before the elections.

According to him, most young stars in the entertainment industry are starving due to the closure of theatres. He mentions a few names who used to make a living through the medium, saying that the closure of the theatre has disrupted their source of income.

Sam said that Mark Okraku Mantey who is the leader of the industry should be able to charge the ruling government on their failed promises.

He said that Mark Okraku Mantey who was recently appointed as the Deputy Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture has not been able to hold the ruling government responsible for the shutdown of theatres which is a major contribution to the growth of the industry.

He also lamented on hos clubs, lounges and churches have been left to operate with all the safety protocols being observed, yet the theatres are closed. He said that the government must open theatres and ensure that the same protocols are being observed in curtailing the spread of COVID-19.
