The Akufo-Addo led government in early 2020 locked up all cinemas as part of efforts to help curb the spread of the deadly coronavirus.

Cinemas, stadiums, nightclubs, beach clubs, and other venues were identified as potential hotspots for the virus to spread but since the beginning of 2021, most of these event hosting hubs operates with no supervision.

After over a year, these cinemas are still locked keeping the movie producers, actresses in big trouble as it has become difficult to work and have something to feed their families.

It is because of this that Yvonne Nelson has alerted the government to put measures in place to open the cinemas for them to connect with the movie lovers and also make some cash for themselves since it’s also their source of livelyhood.

In a post on Instagram, Yvonne Nelson charged on the government with the hashtag, #openourcinemas, #openourcinemasnow and her call was supported by Salma Mumin and co.
