Accra, April 21, GNA — Patience Asiedua, aka Nana Agradaa, has been arrested for illegally operating a satellite television station; Thunder TV.

Nana Agradaa advertised her “Sika Gari” on her TV station, which she claimed was her personal god that multiplied money after some rituals.
Mrs Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, the Minister of Communication and Digitisation, on her official Facebook page, said Nana Agradaa was arrested among other offenders for transmitting without licenses.
“At about 2200hrs on 20/04/2021, a joint team of Police and National Security Intelligence Operatives, in collaboration with the National Communications Authority, stormed the premises of two satellite television stations, namely, Thunder TV and Ice1 TV, who were illegally transmitting without licenses, at Kasoa in the Central Region,” she said.
Mrs Owusu-Ekuful said the team arrested the offenders including Nana Agradaa, the owner of Thunder TV and seized two equipment each used in the illegal transmission from both premises.
She had admitted to the illegality and was in custody assisting with investigations, the Minister said.
“The influx of unregulated television stations on air have led to promotion of certain content, which may affect public order, public morality and the rights and reputation of others. As such, efforts are underway to rid the system of this canker and reduce overcrowding on Ghana’s air waves,” she said.
The Kasoa Divisional Police Command on Saturday, April 3, arrested two teenagers for allegedly killing an 11-year-old boy, Ishmael Mensah, for money ritual.
The suspects were alleged to have said they were instructed by a fetish priestess, who advertised her powers on television, to bring human parts and GH₵5,000.00 for money ritual.
