Akufo-Addo nominates Mark Okraku Mantey as Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture

Experienced Ghanaian producer, Mark Okraku Mantey has been nominated by President Akufo-Addo as Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture.

If his vetting in parliament goes through and he is finally approved, Mark Okraku Mantey will serve as the lieutenant to sector Minister Mohammed Awal.

Currently, Mark Okraku Mantey is the acting President of the Creative Arts Agency and doubles as the Head of Programmes at Hitz FM. He is also a staunch supporter of the New Patriotic Party and has publicly campaigned for the party since 2008.

A little background information on Mark Okraku Mantey is that he has been into music production since 1996 and is one of the finest creative arts minds in the country at the moment. His understanding of the entertainment industry coupled with his influence is widespread and positions him as a fine candidate for the Deputy ministerial role.

Mark has worked with the likes of Kojo Ashakan, Felix Bell, Ohene Kissi, Lord Kenya, Daasebre Gyamena, Adane Best, Akyeame, Okuraseni Samuel, Bless, and Kumi Guitar, Nana Yaw Asare, Jamson, Kudjo Sasu, and Nana Quame, Swazzy B, Joe Frazier, among others.

He has also worked as the executive producer of ‘Efiewura’, a comedy series that aired on TV3. Mark doubles as an event organizer who has put up some of the biggest entertainment events in Ghana.

Mark Okraku Mantey’s appointment will certainly serve as a sigh of relief to industry players who would be looking forward with optimism to seeing the sector move forward with key reforms implemented.
