Not long ago, the Electricity Company of Ghana with the help of the Managing Director, Mr Kwame Agyemang Budu alongside the Energy Ministry unexpectedly took the privilege to shut down Tema Oil Refinery over unpaid electricity bills which came as a huge surprise to most Ghanaians considering how most individuals expected otherwise.
However, the recent circulating news that has undoubtedly raised lots of concerns amongst Ghanaians was when the USA-based Ghanaian broadcast journalist, Kelvin Taylor revealed that, the Electricity Company of Ghana is currently owing the Ghana Revenue Authority over Ghs 800 million after the ECG boldly shut down TOR for not paying their electricity bills.
“Whilst the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) is shutting down the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) over failure to pay their bills, the ECG is also owing the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) over Ghs 800 million”, Kelvin Taylor emphatically stated.
