The stand-in host of the “New-day” show on TV3 today, December 29, 2021, Roland Walker, has confirmed that the main host of the show, Johnnie Hughes, will resume work next year.
This confirmation comes to diffuse claims that Johnnie Hughes has been taken off the show for some reasons.
Johnnie Hughes has recently been accused by the New Patriotic Party representatives on the show of being bias and inclined towards the National Democratic Congress. Most Communicators who appear on the show to represent the ruling party always seem to be uncomfortable with his line of questioning and the interjections he makes whilst talking.
The latest accusations of bias came from Dennis Aboagye, a former MCE and a Communicator for the ruling party who vehemently accused the host of being bias and acting in ways that favors the opposition NDC.
He therefore threatened that if that continues, the NPP would stay off the show.
That eventually sparked rumors that the management of TV3 would relieve Johnnie Hughes of responsibility as host of the show. The rumors became much “louder” when Johnnie Hughes was “missing” on the show today.
Netizens reacted on the comments section of the Facebook feed of the show and questioned why their “favorite” host was not the one moderating the show.
Well, the host of the show for today has come out to indicated that Johnnie Hughes is not feeling well and that he would resume as host of the show next year.
This message comes as a sigh of relief to fans and followers of the show who cannot wait to see their favorite host on the screens again.
Johnnie Hughes says has debunked claims that he is bias and inclined to the opposition NDC. He says he remains neutral and would always speak true to power regardless of the party in power as he has been doing for time immemorial.
The new year would reveal whether the NPP would truly refrain from the show or not.
