Just when we thought the dust had settled between Members of Parliament and the approval of the E-Levy hanging around their their necks, a fresh set of press conferences and interviews granted by both the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban S.K. Bagbin and the Majority leader Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, has sparked another flame yet to be quenched.

With the speaker, he addressed a section of the press yesterday, while clearing the air of allegations that he has been diagnosed with a cancer, thus, seeking health care outside the country.

He also lamented on the bearing leadership of this country is taking. He revealed that if the nation does nothing to change the quality of leadership, then this country is going no where.

He stressed on values such as truthfulness, honesty and respect as necessary for good leadership.

The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Alban S.K. Bagbin is quoted as saying, ” If we don’t change the quality of leadership, political leadership, this country is going nowhere. We must be truthful, we must be honest, we must respect each other, we must build a culture of respect. If we don’t do that, then forget it”.

While he might have said what ought to be the ideal governance environment, it appears there are some lapses in the current system of governance which does not forster good governance.
