A section of Kenyans have taken their anger on a popular media House Facebook page to protest how it reported on how deputy president William Ruto’s numbers evaporated yesterday as the controversial political parties amendment bill 2021 was being debated. The Star Kenya, one of Kenya’s giant media houses has got the wrath of arguably Tangatanga diehards after it reported that Ruto’s numbers were nowhere to be seen yesterday in Parliament as the bill awaits second reading when the national assembly resumes in January.

The Parliament’s special seating was suspended after chaos erupted, which forced the presiding deputy speaker to adjourn. However, according to the Star’s report, the bill was passed. This has angered a section of Kenyans who reacted saying the seating was suspended.

The political parties amendment bill 2021 requires that all political parties name their contenders by February next year. This has been seen as a direct favor to the Raila Odinga’s Azimio La Umoja coalition while affecting DP Ruto’s UDA and Musalia Mudavadi’s ANC.

Below are some of the reactions online on the popular media house report.
