Daniel Twum, a belt and shoe trader at the Trede New Town, was selling his merchandise when he heard Rose Afoah shouting at the deceased, Victor Taggoe. Victor was not given a fair hearing whatsoever when Daniel took a belt from his goods and hit Victor on the back.
Victor, according to the eyewitness account, turned back immediately but he could not speak as Opoku Frank hit him from behind as he tried confronting Daniel. Victor wanted to fight Daniel for hitting him with the belt hooks, but Opoku Frank came from nowhere and hit Victor on the head as he tried confronting Daniel for hitting him first, the eyewitness account stated.
Victor fell to the ground and the two; Daniel Twum and Opoku Frank, together with others, beat him with objects before he became wounded and died. Victor was confirmed dead at the Sarfo Adu clinic when he was taken for emergency treatment.

Before my husband could turn back to see who it was, someone, Daniel Twum had already hit him with belts bringing the attention on my husband. There was a thief but that wasn’t my husband. Daniel and his fellow traders didn’t even listen to me before beating my husband to death, Abigail, cried as she narrated the incident at the Trede Police station.
Rose who confirmed to the police in her statement, narrated that, she saw a thief but Daniel Twum and Opoku Frank got the wrong person. I told them that wasn’t the thief before they took him to the hospital, Rose told the police this morning after her arrest.
Rose Aning encourage the men to take Victor to the hospital when she saw the lifeless body of Victor Taggoe but Victor could not make it as he died before arriving at the Sarfo Adu Clinic at Trede.
