Two Unhappy Players Set to Leave Hearts of Oak

Accra Hearts of Oak’s current troubles does not look ending any time soon as some key players are expected to leave the club.

The Phobians suffered a humiliating exit from both the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup in a space of a few months. Starting off their CAF Champions League campaign, they defeated Guinea side, Club Industriel de Kamsar 2-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium in just one leg. The victory set them up with Morocco giants, Wydad Athletic Club in the second playoffs of the competition. The Phobians managed to beat them 1-0 in the first leg in Accra before suffering a 6-1 drubbing in Casablanca.

That result pushed them down to the CAF Confederation Cup of which they were paired against Algeria club, Jeunesse Sportive de Saoura for a two legged clash. Hearts of Oak managed to beat them 2-0 in the first leg playoffs at the Accra Sports Stadium moving into the second leg in Béchar. The Phobians will go suffer yet another horrible loss of which ended 4-0 in Béchar to finish the aggregate at 4-2 for JS SAOURA. Hearts of Oak have equally started the 2021-22 Ghana Premier League on a bad note. They have played four matches and recorded three draws and one defeat in the process.

The draws came against Legon Cities FC in the opener, a 1-1 draw at West Africa Football Academy and the same score line at home to two time champions, Aduana Stars. They lost 2-0 at the Len Clay Stadium to AshantiGold in week four before their CAF Confederation Cup engagement. Some players are expected to leave the club per reports in the media and one of them is central defender, Nuru Sulley. The player has not played for the last eight months and has fallen the pecking order in the defensive set up. Another key player set to leave the club per media reports is Congolese left back, Raddy Ovouka. Reports indicate that he is set to join an unnamed French club.
