The Western North Regional Police Commander DCOP Ernest Kirk Yaw Akrasi Mensah has said the Ghana Police alone can’t protect Ghanaians therefore he has urged drivers, riders to join hands with them to safeguard the lives of the citizenry during, before and christmas.
Speaking to Awuku Addo on Okyeame Radio Adekyee Mu Nsem show, he described drivers as protectors of human lives on earth apart from the almighty God while urging them to do away with over speeding since it’s the surest way to avoid road crashes.
According to him, the police service have spoken with drivers, riders on what to do to protect lives and asserted that unlicensed vehicle users when apprehended would face full rigors of the law.
He therefore beseeched Stakeholders and leaders especially Nananom of various communities to distant themselves and allow the law to take it due course when nation wreckers (culprits) are arrested.
Mr Akrasi tasked the media and inhabitants of various communities to report people especially visitors who’s ways of life are highly ambiguous to the police leadership to probe their dealings.
“If your papers, other materials are accurate and intact then don’t pay a penny to any of the police officers on barriers and if they insist taking money from you be bold enough and report them” Regional Commander added.
