Actor cum filmmaker Eddie Nartey has quizzed the relevance of changing the name of the Ghana film industry asking with all the problems the industry is facing if changing the name is the most important.
Rumors have it that the executives o the Ghana movie industry is changing its name and though we are yet to know the name it’s now called, some industry players are not pleased about it and Eddie Nartey has voiced out his displeasure.
Eddie Nartey posted voicing out his displeasure about changing the name of the Ghana film industry saying posterity will not forgive them if they sit idle and watch this mistake happen, asking whether they didn’t know about the black star film festival.
According to him, the industry has real problems as when you are able to make 1 film, you can only screen it at Silverbird in Accra and you have to rent hotels and do whole new publicity for that asking them not to turn a blind eye to that.
Eddie Nartey then advised that they should bring in investors that will support the local filmmakers and help build cinemas so that they will be able to showcase their films to Ghanaians nationwide and not only Silverbird asking them to learn from Nigerians.
