The group stages of the ongoing Uefa Champions league campaign has been completed following midweek games between some of our favourite teams.
Chelsea were unable to defeat Zenit St Petersburg when they travelled to Russia on Wednesday. The blues started the game in the best possible manner as Timo Werner opened the scoring at the near post in the second minute.
Zenit would however change the course of the game before halftime as they led 2-1 thanks to quick fire goals from Claudinho and Azmoun. Both teams would eventually settle for a 3-3 draw by the end of the second half as Chelsea failed to secure top spot in the group.
Manchester United were also held to a 1-1 draw by Young Boys Bern at Old Trafford on Tuesday. Mason Greenwood opened the scoring with an acrobatic effort from inside the box but failure to double their lead on the night cost United dearly as Young Boys were able to slug out a point by the end of the final whistle.
Bayern Munich also made light work of Barcelona when both sides clashed yesterday at the Allianz Arena in Germany. Goals from Thomas Muller, Leroy Sane and Jamal Musaila was enough to see the Bavarians secure a 3-0 win which saw the Catalans fail to book a round of 16 spot for the first time in over 17 years.
