Management Member of Accra Hearts of Oak, Alhaji Braimah Akanbi jabbed supporters who are questioning the club’s poor outing in the continental football.

The Phobians were kicked out of the CAF Confederation Cup after suffering at the hands of Algeria club, Jeunesse Sportive de Saoura. The first leg of the game ended in a good news for Hearts of Oak who beat JS SAOURA 2-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium. The return leg was however a bad news for the 2000 CAF Champions League winners who went all the way to Algeria and got beaten 4-0. The two legs the finished in a 4-2 aggregate score line to kick out the Phobians over two legs. The bad result has sent disappointment down the souls of the club’s following who are agitating and calling for the head of coach Samuel Boadu.

However, management member, Alhaji Braimah Akanbi has thrown a big question at them for making such comments. ”In football there are three outcomes. Win, draw and a defeat. So defeats are normal in football. Even the almighty Brazil were humiliated 7-1 by Germany and when that happened, did Brazil stop playing football?”- Alhaji Akambi questioned. Hearts of Oak have also made a bad start to the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season.

They started the season with a goalless draw against Legon Cities FC at the Accra Sports Stadium in week one before posting a 1-1 draw at the Sogakope Park in the second where Kofi Kordzi’s goal was canceled by Sampson Agyapong. Their week three clash against two time champions, Aduana Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium equally ended in a 1-1 draw much to the disappointment of the fans. The fourth week encounter saw them fall to AshantiGold at the Len Clay Stadium. Yaw Annor and Abdul Salam Gabe the Miners all the two goals to shock the Phobians.
