The Secondary school principals have issued a proposal to have both KCPE and KCSE exams postponed. These exams were expected to be done early next year but the school heads now want the exams done around mid next year.

The secondary school principals have also proposed that all schools to be closed earlier following the ongoing cases of indiscipline in schools. According to the school principals, the students seems not ready for the national exams which are scheduled for March next year.

The chairman of Kenya Secondary School Heads Association (Kessha) Kahi Indimuli says that the candidates who will be sitting for KCSE seems to be in panic as the national examinations draws closer.

Despite police arresting students who are being involved in arson as schools charge parents to repair damaged infrastructure, anxiety still remains high in boarding schools.

However, the Cabinet Secretary of Education Professor George Magoha had stated that learners should not panic due to the national examinations saying they should maintain calm.

Magoha stated that the exams are ready. The CS also assured learners that the results would be moderated differently as compared to the other years following the disruptions of the education calendar by the pandemic.
