Aside his outspokenness and open support for the National Democratic Congress, Mugabe Salifu Maase’s popularity in the country increased when he was jailed following a case of contempt against the court’s judges. Today, Mugabe Maase sadly recounted the troubles he went through at the prison just for the love of the National Democratic Congress.

Mugabe was forced to reminisce this sad story because of how he believed some executives of the National Democratic Congress are trying to collapse the party. Speaking on the Gumbe Show, Mugabe Maase explained that he is amongst one of the few people who have gone through a lot just because he was defending the party. He stated boldly that nobody in the NDC had suffered more than he had suffered even under Mahama’s administration. He disclosed that he spent 28 days and nights at Nsawam Prison and 2 days and nights at Akuse prison. He challenged any executive of the NDC to do the same if only they had that capacity.

“I have been to court under the NPP, 35 times. Forget about Montie 3. I still go to court as of now. I want every Ghanaian to know this. Despite all this, I am still not disappointed. I have vowed to serve John Mahama and the NDC”, he added.
