The late Dr Robert Ouko Seda Died prematurely in 1991 leaving his property in the Hands of his wife the late Christabel ouko.

In the year 2015, Christabel wanted to sell Ouko’s home located at his ancestral home in Nyahera Kisumu.

Her decision led a division in the family,with his brothers protesting against the widow’s decision and even went to court to barre her from selling the home.

Before the issue cropped up,the home was rented to a German businessman known as Friedmann Ezel who was the buyer.

Ouko brothers Mr Mbaja, Maurice and William protested the widow’s decision urguing that it is wrong to sell ancestral home where Ouko’s fore fathers were burried and it attract a case on the family.

The also mentioned that Ouko being a prominent leader who died when he was in government,his home remains a landmark in which he can be remembered,and thus should be converted to a cultural center to keep his legacy alive.

Mr Mbaja told the couple: “Even my parents would not accept this nonsense if they were to rise from their graves today. We shall fight to the bitter end.” 

Mrs Ouko on the other hand maintained that she had to sell the home,since her husband left a will that gave her authority over their estate.

Mrs Ouko in 2017 and was burried next to her husband at Ouko’s Koru farm where she was living with her seven children.
