After months of nightmares trying to clear his name at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) over accusations of witnesses interference, the lawyer attached to the Deputy President William Ruto has a reason to smile after the prosecutors revealed new information that might turn around his case.

While speaking in the chamber trial, lead prosecutor James Stewart told judges that a key witness named P-0604 holding crucial information against the lawyer had turned rogue and now unwilling to participate in the case.

James Stewart stated that despite necessary arrangements being made, P-0604 failed to show up at the agreed location to present crucial documents that were to help in corroborating his earlier narration on how Gicheru bribed witnesses.

P-0604 has also failed to respond to ICJ efforts to contact him. P-0604 had admitted that Gicheru used him to reach out to several other witnesses and offer bribes to influence decisions as witnesses.

Because the man is now unwilling to participate, prosecutor James Stewart told the chamber that they had given up on contacting him again. Without P-0604 the prosecution will find it difficult to pin Gicheru.
