The sit down strike of commercial drivers has been suspended as the GPRTU is set to sit with the Presidency during the course of the day for further discussion.
Early this morning some trotro drivers I’m some parts of Accra embarked on a sit down strike to demonstrate over the hike of fuel prices and refused to take any passenger leaving most people stranded on the streets and various lorry parks/stations.
A recent release from the GPRTU calls on its members to suspended the sit down strike for the time being as the leadership of the union has been invited to the Presidency to talk about the way forward.
They then entreated all their members to go back to their normal duties until they feed them with the next development that comes out from their meeting with the Presidency as that will determine whether they will continue with the strike or end it there.
