The speed and rate at which the Kwadaso boys took the NSMQ competition beat the imagination of Ghanaians since everybody contemplated a win for the Presbyterian Boys Senior High School, PRESEC-Legon
Ever since the National Science and Maths Quiz was inaugurated in the early 90’s, a lot of schools that are resourceful with ultramodern laboratory fully furnished with scientific apparatus, tools and equipment have raised the bar higher and had been able to excelled in the subjects.
PRESEC-Legon, Opoku Ware School, Adisadel College, St Augustine’s College, St Peters SHS, Yaa Asantewaa Girls, Achimota, Kumasi Anglican, St Andrews SHS, Tamale SHS, Aduman SHS, St Louis SHS, KNUST SHS, Sunyani SHS, Prempeh College etc do have a vibrant foundation in Science since they keep on practicing those subjects under the supervision of resourceful science teachers.
Through science and technology, a lot of inventions have happen and eased the burden at work places and within our health sectors, a lot of medical Doctors, Nurses, Laboratory Technicians as well as other Disciplines like Engineering had all benefitted Ghanaians and people over the continents.
The nation requires Science and Maths as well as the use of technology which had been the success of most of the western countries into attaining the highest standard of development over the past years.
The Tullow Oil Company Limited of Ghana in 2017 deemed it highly expedient to promote and consolidate Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics in the country and gifted Prempeh College, the NSMQ masters with new ultramodern science Laboratory and equipment known as the Aidan Heavey Science Laboratory
The Science Laboratory had motivated and improved students learning and also auger well for deeper understanding and its one of the contributing factors promulgating the students to win the NSMQ in 2017, the year the Lab was established and now 2021
Prempeh College closely beat Opoku Ware and KNUST SHS in the semi finals of the competition and went ahead to outwitted PRESEC-Legon and Ketasco in one of the intriguing and fearful battle to clinch the title
Prempeh College is situated at Sofoline Kwadaso, few meters away from their arch-rivals Opoku Ware of Santasi, Kumasi.
The school has nurtured prominent personalities like Former President Kuffour, KSM the producer of Thank God its Friday programme, Dr Kwabena Duffour , The Atto Ahwoi brothers etc.
