Honorable Henry Norgbey has justfied the reason why he snatched the seat of the Speaker of Parliament during the momment of confusion in Parliament.
According to him, Joe Wise is not a speaker but a member of Parliament so he doesn’t have any right to even sit on the chair of the Speaker.
In a conversation with a journalist from TV3, the member of Parliament was asked why he snatched the seat of the Speaker. He replied by saying that; ‘I did not snatch the seat of the Speaker. I was preserving the seat for the speaker’.
He explained to the fact that, it is not his duty to preserve the seat of the Speaker of Parliament but rather the acting speaker ruled that he is not a speaker but rather a member of Parliament.
He also explained that, the speaker cannot take any decision unilateral on any motion. It is the house that takes decision and not the motion.
These are all factors that led to the snatching of the Speaker’s seat by the member of Parliament.
Again according to the Speaker of Parliament, he has no comment whether he has regretted snatching the seat of the Speaker or not but he sees nothing wrong with that since every person in Parliament can touch.
