Ghanaian gospel musician, Obaapa Christy, has intimated that she does not write most of her songs.
Obaapa Christy is currently on a media tour to promote her new track titled The Glory.
Most Ghanaian musicians have been accused of using ghostwriters without properly crediting their work as they seek to claim all the honour for themselves.

Speaking in an interview on Atinka TV’s ‘JukeBox’, she revealed that she does not mostly write the lyrics of her songs before recording them in the studio.
She said: “I don’t write my songs…my new song ‘The Glory’ i didn’t write it ooo …Like putting pen to paper even my pen and book got missing way back…I don’t have a pen and a book; so I have never written my own songs…the songs just runs through my head then I quickly go to the studio and produce it,”

Obaapa added that she used the help of sound engineer Dan Bassey use to write most of her songs whilst she explained that her new single titled ‘The Glory’ was written by herself.
“My previous songs were written for me by Dan Bassy but the new one now I did everything by myself”. she added.
She also lashed out at the executives at GHAMRO for their failure in paying the royalties and taking advantage of musicians.
”Talk to GHAMRO. They are cheating musicians and depriving them of their royalties. They don’t speak the truth. They are a bunch of lairs. They are stealing from musicians. But they should understand that they will pay for their sins,” she said.
