Abubakar Malami (SAN), the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, has disputed any connection to one of the individuals arrested in connection with the raid on Justice Mary Odili’s Abuja apartment.

The Nigeria Police Force displayed fourteen individuals arrested in connection with the raid on Justice Odili’s residence last week. One of the suspects, who claimed to be a Chief Superintendent of Police and provided his name as Lawrence Ajojo, claimed to be a consultant to the Justice Minister.

He claimed that the Minister had previously assigned him 29 cases to handle, but that he was unaware of the plan to raid Justice Odili’s residence. The Minister quickly issued a statement stating that he would not hire a quack as a consultant.

”In terms of knowledge by way of either a relationship or distant or close, I do not have any relationship whatsoever with Lawrence Ajojo. I do not know him. I do not engage him. I do not instruct him formally or informally. That is the true position of things as far as Lawrence Ajojo is concerned.

I have never given him a single case and if I have given him 39 cases, let him show the evidence of engagement. I have never seen this man on earth. God knows.”he said
