Ghanaian musician, Wendy Asiamah Addo who is known as Wendy Shay has replied to one of Ghana’s police chiefs, COP Kofi Boakye.

This comes after COP Kofi Boakye asked a question about who a celebrity is during the time the police met some of the popular Ghanaian personalities in the creative arts industry.

During the meeting, COP Kofi Boakye wrote;

“I want to say the sense of entitlement of celebrities is becoming overwhelming. And I just don’t get it. Some of the things you do are disgusting, truth be told…If you want privileges what privileges do you want? That you can pull a weapon at anytime and nothing will be done to you? No, that is not possible. We cannot do that.

Who is a celebrity? What is the operational definition of the word celebrity? I think we should get that because I am confused.”

Reaction to this, Wendy Shay took to her verified social media handle on the popular micro-blogging platform, Twitter and wrote;

“Celebrity is an English word,it means a famous person especially in entertainment or sports etc,but it seems some Ghanaians have their own definition for the word celebrity, somebody being famous(celebrity)too Dey pain u people ooh Dabi smh
Ghana wake up!”
