Ghanaian rapper Guru NKZ does not understand why the police administration speaking through COP Kofi Boakye will refute the celebrity status of Ghanaian celebrities.

This came up following IGP Dampre’s meeting with selected entertainers, celebrities and musicians. At the meeting, COP Kofi Boakye intimated that the fact that a person had appeared in a song or film did not qualify him or her as a celebrity.

“Who is a Celebrity? What is the operational definition of the word celebrity? I think we should get that because I am confused. We are confused. Is it that when you appear in one film, or you do one song, you qualify to be called a celebrity or what? And because we are confused, we do not know what you want,” he had said.

However, Guru NKZ in a reactionary post on social media has disputed the claim of COP Kofi Boakye that some of them or probably none of them qualified as celebrities.

According to the “Lapaz Toyota” hitmaker, the IGP wouldn’t have invited them if they were not considered celebrities (in the true sense of the word).

In what capacity were they invited then. You invite people to a meeting and start questioning the very reason u found it necessary to invite them

So who is a celebrity? The debate goes on
