He made his submissions known following a tweet made by an active performing member of Ghanaian music group NSG based in the United Kingdom named ODG that one of the most talented talents most musicians from Ghana can use as a case study is Amarae.
Ghanaian artist should learn from Amaarae, she’s not even praised as much in Ghana but she’s breaking records for us, the tweet reads.

According to Jae5, Amarae has been one of the few musicians from Ghana elevating the Ghanaian flag aloft and elevating Ghanaian music to a new level unlike some other musicians from Ghana whose only interest has been to imitate other’s as their own.
“Probably one of few artist out of ghana making different music,” he said in tweet on Tuesday, November 9, 2021. “I respect her. She’s unique and not trying to copy anybody. The rest still just doing copy and paste wondering why they not getting bigger. Need something fresh and different out Ghana”, he tweeted.

Jae5 went further to assert that Ghanaian music should be dynamic before thinking of competing with talents from other countries, adding that the style of music in Ghana is not good enough to compete on the world music market.
Didn’t suggest everyone sound like her. Suggested ghana music should have more variety. As w Ghanaian we have to step up the quality of our music before trying to compete or make excuses. The musics not good enough !

Before anyone ccould misquote his statements, Jae5 clarified that is not downplaying anyone or any artist from Ghana but upon listening to Amarae, he can testify that she stands out among or Ghanaian musicians.

As a reminder, Amarae is a Ghanaian-American singer, songwriter, producer, and engineer known for her work around representation of gender and race in music.
