A grpup called Youth for Peace and Security Africa [YPSA], a;so known as Free Shatta Movement has launched an online protest, demanding the release of their superstar from police custody.

This comes shortly after the musician was arrested by the police following a publicity stunt he pulled in relation to a death prophecy made by the leader of the New Life Kingdom Chapel International, Stephen Akwasi Appiah, otherwise known as Jesus Ahuofe.
Shatta Wale faked a shooting incident along with two of his crew members, his PR, Nana Dope, and his designer, Gangee. Per a post made by his PR, the musician was admitted to an emergency ward at an undisclosed private hospital but it all turned to be a very big hoax.
Shatta Wale was made to appear before the court today after he was accused of causing fear and panic with his framed shooting incident. Reports reaching us indicated that he has been remanded into police custody for a week until the reopening of his case.
In reaction to that, a group of the vociferous SM Empire dubbed #FreeShattaWaleMovement has launched an online protest, demanding the release of Shatta Wale from police custody as well as an apology from the police.
According to the group, Shatta Wale’s publicity stunt was a mini protest against the failure of the police to guarantee his right to peace, safety, and security as a citizen of the country. The group says Shatta Wale is a hero who needs to be celebrated and not punished.
