Serwaa Amihere wants how personnel of the National Service Scheme in the country survive on a monthly allowance of GH¢599.
The Ghanaian broadcaster often laments the growing hardship and high cost of living standard in Accra once again took to social media to express worry over the meagre salary of personnel.
She wondered how fresh graduates could afford accommodation, bills, transportation and food on the remuneration which she deems as a paltry sum.
Taking to Twitter, she wrote: “National service personnel, how do you manage the GHC 559 allowance?“

All graduates of tertiary institutions in Ghana are mandated by law to complete a year’s mandatory service at various institutions across the country.
They are currently paid a monthly allowance of GH¢559.
The last time personnel witnessed an increase in their allowance was in April 2017.
The allowance was increased from GH¢350.00 a month to GH¢559.04 a month.
