Ghanaian musician, Vera Hamenoo-Kpeda who is known as MzVee has asked society to desist from mounting pressure on single women to marry.

According to the artist, marriages are not sold in shops or easy to come by so society should stop mounting pressure on the female gender to get married. MzVee added that for a person to get married, it takes time and everybody’s timing for marriage is different.

“It’s not a nice feeling to be pressured in that sense because it’s not something you can go and shop for: you can’t shop for a man; you can’t shop for a woman; it’s something that comes with time and everybody’s timing is different, so, please take it easy on some of us”, she told Nana Romeo on Accra100.5FM’s mid-morning show Ayekoo Ayekoo on Thursday, 14 October 2021.

“On social media, some people say that: ‘You’re growing old, get married, ‘When will you get married?’, ‘Be here and be boasting [about] this and not get married but I don’t pay attention to those people”, she noted.
