Ghanaian media personality, Serwaa Amihere has lamented how national service personnel is supposed to an amount of GH¢599 as an allowance as they begin their services in various stations in the country.

The Ghana National Service Scheme, which is overseen by the Ministry of Finance, is solely responsible for distributing allowances to National Service personnel.
National Service personnel currently earns GH¢559 per month after it was increased from the previous year’s figure of GH¢350. The National Service Scheme is a one-year long program and personnel are expected to earn about GH¢6,700 as an allowance during this period.
Serwaa Amihere who seems to disagree with the Ministry of Finance over their decision to pay service personnel with that amount of money has quizzed as to how they are supposed to manage their salary in relation to the high cost of living in the country.
