A man who was on groomsman duty was sacked from the wedding by the officiating pastor for putting on earrings.

According to the explanation, the earrings were against Christianity thus the pastor was not ready to allow for the groomsman to have them on.

Subsequently, the groomsman chose between taking off his earrings and partaking in the wedding or exiting the wedding with his earrings on.

Chief Opeyemi, A Nigerian who finds himself at a wedding in Oslo Norway could not believe that he could be denied access to a wedding because he had his earrings on. What did his earrings have to do with the wedding?

That was the question posed when he shared his ordeal on social media. According to him, he was disappointed in the fact that Christianity, as practised by the officiating pastor, did not allow for secularism or “normal” things like the putting on of earrings by a man.

He shared his experience by writing:

At a Baptist church in Isolo, groomsman duties and the reverend just told me I’m not allowed to wear earrings in church. I calmly left the church, guess it’ll be the reception for me. Shout out to Nigerian christianity, and hope they have fine dining restaurants in hell
