Oct. 1 (UPI) — The Umbrella Academy will return for a third season on Netflix in 2022.
The streaming service confirmed a 2022 release date for Season 3 in a teaser video on its website Friday.
The video shows a bird flying through the sky and coming to land on an umbrella. The open umbrella then transforms into a hotel bell, confirming that the season will take place at Hotel Oblivion.
The Umbrella Academy is based on the Gerard Way comic book series of the same name. In the comics, Hotel Oblivion is the secret dimension where Sir Reginald Hargreeves sent the team’s worst enemies.
Season 3 will also feature the Sparrow Academy, a team of superheroes in an alternate timeline. Justin H. Min, who plays Ben Hargreeves, aka Number Six, appeared in a teaser for the season Friday.
In the alternate timeline, Ben (Min) is Number Two in the Sparrow Academy.
The Umbrella Academy is created by Steve Blackman and stars Elliot Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan and Aidan Gallagher.
Blackman unveiled all 10 episode titles for Season 3 in June.
