Sept. 29 (UPI) — NXT Women’s Champion Raquel Gonzalez defended her title against Franky Monet in the main event of WWE NXT.
WWE NXT on Tuesday was marketed as a ladies night that also featured B-Fab facing Elektra Lopez in a No Disqualification match and NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Io Shirai and Zoey Stark defending their titles against Toxic Attraction. Male wrestlers also competed, however.
Monet was joined at ringside by her manager Robert Stone and Jessi Kamea. Monet talked trash to Gonzalez in Spanish throughout the match, enraging the champ.
Monet and Gonzalez brawled with Monet continuing to taunt her opponent while kicking Gonzalez in the face. Gonzalez was able to perform her signature Chingona Bomb, which was enough to earn the three count.
Toxic Attraction, which consists of Mandy Rose, Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne, entered the scene and ambushed Monet, Stone and Kamea as they were exiting the arena.
Toxic Attraction then set their sights on Gonzalez and entered the ring. Golin and Jayne held Gonzalez after they beat her down, allowing Rose to deliver a vicious knee strike. Rose held up the NXT Women’s Championship as WWE NXT went off the air.
Toxic Attraction were less successful facing Shirai and Stark for the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships.
Shirai and Stark both took to the air to deliver dropkicks to both Dolin and Jayne at the same time.Shirai also went to the top turnbuckle and performed a Moonsault to the outside ring area that took out both members of Toxic Attraction.
Stark argued with Rose, who kept interfering in the match. Shirai was back inside the ring and performed another Moonsault on Jayne to win the match and remain NXT Tag Team Champions with Stark.
B-Fab of Hit Row and Lopez of Legado del Fantasma had a violent confrontation in their No Disqualification match. Both Hit Row and Legado del Fantasma watched the action from ringside.
Lopez shoved B-Fab hard into the steel steps, which ignited a brawl between the two warring factions.
Both women used kendo sticks and steel chairs inside the ring. B-Fab used the kendo stick to target Lopez’s ribs. Lopez answered back by slamming B-Fab onto a standing chair.
Lopez won the hard fought and brutal match by performing a modified Powerbomb on B-Fab.
Other moments from WWE NXT included Xyon Quinn defeating Oney Lorcan; NXT Tag Team Champions MSK getting into a brawl with fellow teams Grizzled Young Veterans, Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams and Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen; Boa defeating Andre Chase; Roderick Strong successfully defending his Cruiserweight Championship against Grayson Waller; and Kyle O’Reilly defeating Ridge Holland.
