Sept. 28 (UPI) — HBO Max is giving a glimpse of Phoebe Robinson’s first comedy special.
The streaming service shared a trailer for the special, titled Phoebe Robinson: Sorry, Harriet Tubman, on Tuesday.
The preview shows Robinson, a writer, actress and comedian, poke fun at quarantining with her boyfriend.
“It feels so good to be out… and away from my boyfriend,” Robinson says.
“I love my boyfriend, I do. I love him, but we quarantined for 15 months!” she adds. “Don’t nobody want to live the Martin Scorsese cut of a relationship.”
Robinson also calls for an update to reparations.
“We gotta update these reparations to stuff that’s gonna benefit my life,” she says. “I don’t want 40 acres and a mule, that is too much work!”
Robinson will also discuss moderating on former first lady Michelle Obama’s book tour, failing at being a social justice warrior and other topics.
Sorry, Harriet Tubman will premiere Oct. 14 on HBO Max.
Robinson is known for co-creating the podcast 2 Dope Queens, which HBO adapted as a four-episode special that aired in 2018. She also hosts the Comedy Central talk show Doing the Most with Phoebe Robinson.
