Highlife musician, Akosua Agyapong, believes if not for the carelessness of the hospital highlife legend Nana Ampadu would probably be alive.

According to her, the hospital they first rushed Nana Ampadu refused to attend to him with the explanation that the doctor was asleep.

What caused Nana Ampadu’s death?

Akosua Agyapong told Adom TV in an exclusive interview at Nana Ampadu’s family house that the first hospital he was rushed to at Achimota did not pay attention to him.

According to her, when the sick musician arrived at the hospital on Tuesday morning, they were told the doctor was sleeping, so he had to be rushed to the University of Ghana Medical Centre in Legon – where doctors did their best, but he, unfortunately, passed away.

Speaking about his death, the Eka Bi Nie hitmaker stated that it is a huge blow to her because losing him is no laughing matter.

The ambulance did not arrive promptly. We went to the Achimota hospital and were told that the doctor had fallen asleep. So, when he was taken to the new Legon hospital, the doctors did everything they could to save him, but he died.

In numerous interviews, Akosua Agyapong stated that it was Nana Ampadu who persuaded her mother to let her pursue music.

Meanwhile, in an earlier interview on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz, some family members expressed concern about the death of a beloved family member, but Akosua Agyapong has cleared the air, confirming the music legend’s death.

She went on to share her fondest memories of the music legend and urged colleagues to emulate his writing style because most of his songs are timeless.

I will remember him for his performances. He is a man who listens. I talk to him and run to him all the time for advice. Now he is gone and the question is who?

Musicians should write good songs. His songs like ‘Obra’ and ‘Agartha’ are timeless and he loves to write songs that live on… I remember I did a song with him on Otumfuo’s birthday and it was lovely.

He tried to love everyone equally and he didn’t discriminate, she recalled.
