Award-winning Ghanaian Gospel Musician and Songwriter Celestine Donkor has disclosed that she would not hesitate to write a song for a political party if she is contracted.
Speaking in an interview on Joy FM monitored by MyNewsGh.com, the musician was asked directly if she would agree to such a deal considering the repercussion that comes along with it.
She responded; “why not? One of the things God has given me is the talent of writing. I can write rap…the rap I can write is not these ones Sarkodie is doing. I can write and as a writer, I can write anything I just choose what I will align with. I have actually written political songs for people. I won’t sing it but I will write for people to sing. I won’t show my face but I will take the money. Remember I told you my first love is business”
Several Gospel musicians including Evangelist Diana Asamoah, Isaiah Kwadwo Ampong, Philipa Baafi, Nicholas Omane Acheampong, Empress Gifty and many others have been openly involved in politics and even done songs for political parties they support.
