Ghana forward Kamal Sowah gave a wonderful account of himself on his UEFA Champions League debut against star-studded Paris Saint Germain at the Jan Breydel Stadion on Monday.
Sowah has swiftly established himself as a mainstay at Club Brugge since joining from Leicester City this summer.
The 21-year-old was handed his Champions League bow by coach Paul Clemente as the Belgian tactician named the budding forward in his starting set-up for the opening fixture of the 2021/22 competition against French money-bags PSG.
Sowah was one of the most exciting players on the pitch as the visitors found it difficult to keep him at bay.
His scintillating debut outing in Europe’s elite club competition overshadowed PSG’s all-star attacking front which consisted of Messi, Neymar and Mbappe — who had an early shower as a result of injury.
The highly-rated Ghanaian youngster impressively clocked 92 minutes under his belt.
Club Brugge meanwhile began the game on the back-foot as Ander Herrera shot the visitors ahead in the 15th minute.
The Belgians however rallied to pick a point courtesy a close range strike by captain Hans Vanaken in the 27th minute.
The Blue and Blacks will face RB Leipzig in the second game of the group while PSG will welcome Manchester City at the Parc des Prince in a fortnight time.
