Richard Nyantakyi
A 44-YEAR-old man is in hot waters after he was nabbed dressed like a policeman on Saturday evening.
The imposter was directing traffic at the Asuofia lorry station when he was eventually arrested and upon a search, the suspect, Richard Nyantakyi, was also in possession of a pump action gun.
He has since been caged at the Suame Divisional Police, where he is being interrogated further.
C/Supt Mr. Christian Owusu Mpinim, the Asokwa District Police Commander, arrested the suspect around 7:20pm.
A police report sighted by DAILY GUIDE said C/Supt Mpinim was driving from Barekese to Abrepo when he spotted Nyantakyi who had dressed like a policeman and wielding a pump action gun.
Police report also indicated that the suspect was boldly “directing traffic at Asuofia lorry station.”
C/Supt Mpinim instantly suspected something fishy, so he confronted the suspect, and according to the report, “the suspect claimed to be a policeman stationed at Suame,” adding that “when asked of his service number he could not give.”
“The suspect was detained and the gun retained for further action,” the police report concluded.
