The General Secretary of the Peoples National Convention (PNC) Janet Asana Nabla has petitioned the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police to investigate David Asibi Apasera and Moses Dani Baah for alleged financial malfeasance.

This comes after their removal from office of as Leader and Chairman of PNC respectively by the National Executive Committee (NEC) on grounds of misconduct and financial malfeasance on 7th day of September 2021.

” I petition your august institution on behalf of the party to investigate the two on the following financial malfeasance and stealing:

“An amount of GHC1.7 million was raised to fund the December 7, 2020 elections. The entire amounts was withdrawn from the bank and cause to be spent by the leader and the chairman without the knowledge of the General Secretary who by Article 53 of the constitution is in charge of daily operations of the party and no proper account has been rendered.

“This act was in clear violation of Article 49(b)(8) where they are instructed to call for NEC meeting to deliberate on issues concerning elections, fundraising, management of funds for the national elections both for the presidential and parliamentary candidates including strategizing and executing the campaigns for both the Presidential candidate and the Parliamentary candidates of the party.

“An amount of GHC150 000.00 was raised to pay party offices’ rent across the country, this amount was deposited in the party’s account where Mr Apasera and Mr. Dani Baah have withdrawn the amount without the knowledge of the Secretary and have not used the money for the intended purpose

“The two are in possession of the party’s cars and it is our request that you assist the party to retrieve the cars.

“Messrs David Asibi Apasera and Moses Dani Baah mobile phone numbers are 0244 220 332 and 0249 684 180 respectively. Attached are the supporting documents to help you carry on with the investigation.

“The party is hopeful that your august institution would investigate the two and prosecute them accordingly.”

The two were removed from office after a petition was filed against them by three members of the party, the General Secretary Janet Asana Nabla, the Ashanti Regional Youth Organizer; Muniru Mohammed and the Communication Director of North East; Mamuna Yidana.

“The National Executive Committee (NEC) subjected the petition submitted by the three to a very diligent scrutiny and upholds all the accusations as the truth. Consequently, Mr. David Apasera and Mr. Moses Dani Baah are guilty of the accusations.

“That, they are removed from their respective offices pursuant to Article 49(a)(4) of PNC constitution for misconducting themselves as prescribed in the petition indefinitely.

“That in their absence, the Greater Accra Regional Chairman shall act as the National Chairman and Leader of the PNC.

“That the General Secretary is cleared to continue to conduct her function as stated in the constitution and she together with the acting Chairman.”

COMMUNIQUE AT THE END OF THE EXTRAORDINARY PNC NATIONAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE (NEC) MEETING HELD IN

KUMASI, 7TH DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 2021

1. Pursuant to Article 45(1a) of the PNC constitution, NEC met in Kumasi extraordinarily, to address recent disturbing occurrences in the party and to make a determination on a petition brought before NEC by the General Secretary; Janet Asana Nabla, the Ashanti Regional Youth Organizer; Muniru

Mohammed and the Communication Director of North East; Mamuna Yidana.

2. Present at the meeting were nine (9) regional chairmen and secretaries, some national officers as required by law. National Vice Chairman Henry Asante and Sam Adeifio (the Central Regional Secretary) were present virtually via Zoom.

3. NEC judiciously deliberated on recent occurrences in the party and resolved as follows:

a. That the NEC meeting of 28th August, 2021 was not properly constituted pursuant to Article 45(3) and as such that meeting is null and void and its outcome must be treated with contempt.

b. That NEC subjected the petition submitted by the three to a very diligent scrutiny and upholds all the accusations as the truth. Consequently, Mr. David Apasera and Mr. Moses Dani Baah are guilty of the accusations.

c. That, they are removed from their respective offices pursuant to Article 49(a)(4) of PNC constitution for misconducting themselves as prescribed in

the petition indefinitely.

d. That in their absence, the Greater Accra Regional Chairman shall act as the National Chairman and Leader of the PNC.

e. That the General Secretary is cleared to continue to conduct her function as stated in the constitution and she together with the acting Chairman.
