The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has endorsed and backed former President John Dramani Mahama’s ‘Do or Die’ comment indicating that the party was cheated in the 2020 polls with the use of armed soldiers to intimidate voters

President John Dramani Mahama has emphasized that the NDC will never go to court in the 2024 general elections if he leads that party.

In an interview with Techiman-based Akina Radio, the three-time National Democratic Congress (NDC) Presidential Candidate said events during and after voting in the 2020 elections have taught his party a lot of lessons to make the 2024 polls a do-or-die affair for them.

“We have learnt our lessons from happenings during the 2020 polls,” Mr Mahama said.

The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress Mr. Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo during former President John Dramani Mahama Thank You, tour in Ashanti Region said “As the National Chairman of NDC, I have stamped John Dramani Mahama’s ‘Do-or-Die’ comment”

According to Chairman Ofosu Ampofo, the NDC will never allow what happened during the 2020 general elections to happen in 2024 elections to repeat itself.

“We will continue to encourage our party supporters to be vigilant because NDC will never be cheated in 2024 general elections,” Mr Ofosu Ampofo said

Mr Ofosu Ampofo emphasized that “Do-or-Die’ doesn’t mean war and Ghanaians knows that John Dramani Mahama is not a violent person”.

“So far as former President John Dramani Mahama is encouraging party members to be vigilant doesn’t mean he is instigating party supporters to kill people or themselves”

He added, “NDC supporters will not bring the war in 2024 general elections and will never do anything that will affect the peace of this country but the elections will be a ‘Do or Die’ affairs”.
