The remains of the mother of the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Hajia Mariama Bawumia will be buried on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at Walewale, in the West Mamprusi Municipality in the North East Region.
Hajia Mariama Bawumia, who was the widow of the late statesman, Mumuni Bawumia and mother of the vice-president, burial rites will be carried out, according to the Islamic religion.
The body will be conveyed from Accra to Walewale for onward burial following the unfortunate incident happening in a health facility in the capital where she was receiving medical treatment before her demise.
A statement issued by the office of the Vice President announcing the death prayed for the repose of her soul.
STATEMENT ON THE PASSING OF HAJIA MARIAMA BAWUMIA
Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un (Indeed to Allah we belong, and to Allah we shall return.)
It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my beloved mother Hajia Mariama Bawumia.
Hajia Mariama passed away peacefully this morning in Accra. Burial is scheduled for Tuesday, September 14, 2021, in Walewale.
May the Almighty Allah grant her Jannatul Firdaus.
