President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is the most industrious leader that Ghana’s Fourth Republic has ever produced.
This is according to Nene Ofoe Teye, the Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Tema East.
“At 77 years, His Excellency is still travelling around the country to touch base with his people and commission projects. Everybody knows that there has never really been a President of such age and activity like Nana Akufo-Addo before in the history of the country,” Nene Ofoe Teye wrote in a write-up.
The comment comes as the President gears up to visit the Volta and Oti Regions to conclude a nationwide tour.
“The President’s stamina is an example to all of us that indeed age is just a number and a good lifestyle in youth pays off well even in old age. With his age and his activity, he is definitely the hardest working President of the fourth republic” Nene added.
President Akufo-Addo on Friday, 3rd September, 2021 resumed his regional tour starting with the Western and Western North regions.
On the tour, he interacted with traditional authorities, initiated new projects and inspected ongoing ones, as well as commissioning completed ones. He also held radio interviews to discuss national and local issues related to the specific regions.
President Akufo-Addo visited Wassa Dompim in the Wassa East Constituency to commission the Narubizi Rubber Factory and to the Shama Constituency to commission Phase 3 of the Keda Ceramic Factory. This was preceded by a call on the Chief of Shama.
He then departed to the Ahanta West Constituency to inspect the progress of work on the Landing Beach in Dixcove and met with Nzema Chiefs in Esiama in the Ellembelle constituency.
The next day, he had cut sod in the Tarkwa Nsuaem constituency for work to begin on the popular Agona Nkwanta-Tarkwa road, inspected work on the Bogoso Polyclinic in the Prestea Huni Valley constituency, followed by a courtesy call on the Chief of Wassa Akropong in the Amenfi East constituency.
He then inspected work on the TVET School project at Manso Amenfi in the Amenfi Central constituency before heading to Asankragua in Amenfi West to call on the Chief. The President wrapped up his Western regional tour with the commissioning of the Municipal Education Office.
Later, President Akufo-Addo opened the Anglican Cathedral in Sefwi Wiawso and paid a courtesy call on the Omanhene of the area. He also commissioned the new Regional Coordinating Council at Sefwi Wiawso and then to Akontombra, where he commissioned the 1D1F Rice Factory in Akontombra.
Later in the Western North region, he begun with a radio interview, a brief stop at the Benchima Palace and an inspection of work on the Benchima Nkwanta road in Sayerano in the Juaboso Constituency. He also commissioned the 1D1W Warehouse in Essam as well as the Magistrate Court in Debiso.
In the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai constituency, he inspected construction works on the Business Advisory Centre to end the tour of the two regions.
“What is notable about the tour is that, at every destination, the President commissioned projects or initiated new ones. And so he is not just touring the country and causing fear and panic with reckless comments like his rival in the NDC, but commissioning projects.
“This is a kind of resourcefulness that makes a President indispensable,” Nene Ofoe Teye wrote.
