“If he had had a stroke and died; would you go and apologize to him?” Managing Director of STC, Nana Akomea, queried.
It may be recalled that the former Central Regional Chairman of the largest opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and now Social Commentator, Bernard Allotey Jacobs had gone to apologize to former President John Agyekum Kufuor for demonizing him while communicating for the NDC during Kufuor’s regime.
“And, as a great statesman, he forgave me and had lunch with me,” Mr Allotey Jacobs said, adding: “Thank you President J.A. Kufour. God bless you and keep you safe” Allotey Jacobs said after meeting the former President.
Even though he didn’t mention any name while speaking to host Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM’s morning programme ”Kokrokoo”, Nana Akomea wondered how the apology would be rendered had the former President not been alive.
” . . as for the NDC they themselves have accepted that they’re deceitful . . . look at what you said about Kufuor, had it not been long life that God has given him and he had had a stroke; would you go and apologize to him?,” he rhetorically asked.
